Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using changelogs.so ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

changelogs.so is an automated changelog generation and distribution service. It connects to your GitHub repositories via GitHub App installation, generates release notes using AI, and distributes them to your subscribers via email and other configured destinations.

3. Account Registration

You must authenticate via GitHub OAuth to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Send unsolicited emails (spam) or add email addresses without recipient consent
• Distribute malicious, harmful, or deceptive content
• Violate any applicable laws or third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm any person

All email distribution requires confirmed opt-in from recipients. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules without notice.

5. Subscriber Consent

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all email recipients have explicitly consented to receive communications from you. The Service sends a confirmation email to every subscriber before they are added to your active list. You must not circumvent this confirmation mechanism.

6. Subscription and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Data and Content

You retain ownership of your repository data and generated changelogs. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely to provide the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties.

8. Availability and Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
